Meet Dr. Al-Odeh
I am pleased to lead the School of Technology at Eastern Illinois University. Over the past five years, I have been recognized nationally in the Operations and Technology Management field as I was highlighted in the list of “professors to know” in Engineering Management Programs by the Online Engineering Programs association. The list is comprised of outstanding professors and universities in acknowledgment of their great contributions to academia. I also received a national award (Strengthening Bonds to Industry Award) by the Association of Technology, Management, and Applied Engineering. I was given this award in recognition of my contributions to connect education with the technology, management, and applied engineering industries. I have been involved of developing national plans and activities to encourage a better understanding of industry needs and preparing students for their future careers.
Regarding my teaching performance, I gained my students’ trust by achieving a rate of 4.57/5 (91%) for my performance in the classroom. This rating is a result of efforts of continuous preparation and my passion for teaching as I use several teaching techniques to ensure the quality of my classes. I have used more than 19 teaching techniques to ensure the effectiveness of my classes.
At the university level, I have served as the Director of the Student Achievement Conference and as a result of my excellent leadership for the conference, I have received the 2017 Spirit of BSU award. I also have served on the BSU assessment committee and helped with the last HLC accreditation visit. I have hosted an international conference at BSU, where researchers came from China, Saudi Arabia, Iran, India, Taiwan, Jordan, USA, Britain, and South Africa.
At the department level, I have led the ATMAE accreditation visit and I have secured accreditation for the four TADT programs (Bemidji State University). I also have developed a new curriculum based on the advisory board’s suggestions to keep TADT programs up-to-date.
At the student development level, I have successfully helped more than 100 TADT students to achieve national certificates in Lean Six Sigma (LSS), Technology Management (TM), and Emotional Intelligent (EQ). I have been serving as faculty advisor for the Beaver Engineering Club since 2012. Over the past five years, the club members and I provided BSU students and Bemidji community members with more than 30 events and community engagement activities.
Last but not least, in the last five years, I have published and presented more than 30 research articles in peer-reviewed journals and national/international conferences. I have published an industry reference book. I have served as a reviewer for books, manuscript journals, and courses. I also served as editor leader for international peer reviewed journals.
If you have any questions or would like me to clarify anything, please, feel free to reach out to me. I am always glad to answer any question you may have. Bellow I attached the following documents for your review: department votes on the application, letters of support, dean's feedback on my previous PDRs, and resume.
Sincerely,
Mahmoud
